Blackpool's Illuminations are switched on annually at the start of September and continue, nightly, until the beginning of November. They're a huge show of moving, glowing tableaux, large illuminated models, laser lights and much, much more. Fibre optics and computer control have brought a new dimension to Britain's biggest tourist attraction. The display stretches along Blackpool's famous seafront from Starr Gate to Bispham transforming the Promenade into a wonderland of colour.

Back in Victorian times, Blackpool was the first town in the country to 'go electric'. A century later, the resort's love affair with light endures. Every autumn, when other seaside resorts close down, Blackpool becomes a blaze of coloured lights - Blackpool Illuminations.

Each year spectacular new sections are added to the display. It's Britain's favourite autumn break, so take a trip to Blackpool lights. It's nicer with the lights on!

Blackpool Tower

There are guided lifts every five minutes to the Tower Top. Arriving at 380 feet there's a real panoramic view. With an additional three levels to ascend, on a clear day you can see as far as North Wales, the Lake District, the Trough of Bowland and on a clear evening as the sun sets, The Isle Of man is visible across the Irish Sea.

Britain's highest post box can be found at the Tower Top and all mail sent from here is marked with our own special official post mark - POSTED FROM THE TOP OF BLACKPOOL TOWER.

Not for the feint hearted is the 'Walk of Faith' glass floor, a two inch clear panel that looks straight down to the Promenade below. Dare you try?

There's also a selection of heritage boards, photos from the Towers past, and information about some of the sights you can see from the Tower Top.

The Tower Top is open whenever the Tower is open to the public. However, if wind speeds at the Tower Top exceed 45 mph, for health and safety reasons we are unable to operate the Tower Top lifts.

 Blackpool Live Shows Theatre’s

Winter Gardens, home to Europe's second largest theatre. The Opera House, it’s 12 self-contained venues each with their own character and unique style. There's something for everyone be it business, leisure or pleasure.

Built on the six-acre Bank Hey Estate and officially opened on 11th July 1878, the Winter Gardens complex is steeped in history.
The original intention was "to place on the land a concert room, promenades, conservatories and other accessories calculated to convert the estate into a pleasant lounge, especially desirous during inclement days.
Over the years, the Winter Gardens has seen many changes and developments, resulting in one of the present day's most unique venues.

Grand Theatre

Variety grows more popular day by day. In Blackpool the cry for first-class Variety is constantly to the forefront, and the public are clamouring for the latest turns, as well as for return visits from old favourites... Each week there is something fresh, something new.

Central Pier - Legends

In its 8th year, the ‘LEGENDS’ show is back for the 2006 season with an amazing collection of performances from top professional look / sound-a-like artists paying homage to the all time great musical Legends!

Many of the favourites return this season including Shirley Bassey, Rod Stewart, Robbie Williams and of course the King himself, Elvis but all new for 2006 for the first time are John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Lionel Ritchie.

Audiences will be enthralled by the performances and can also enjoy drinks throughout the show from the Legends show bar. The casual table style theatre hosts its own Box Office and entrance at the very front of Central Pier, which makes buying your ticket and access to the theatre easy.

This really is THE MUST SEE SHOW IN BLACKPOOL.  Due to the success of the show last year, performances start 2 weeks early this year, so make sure you book in advance!

There are four artists every night with a change in the show every Thursday. Ideal for families, couples and groups, on a holiday treat, a special occasion or a work’s night out.
